The NaramataSlow Series:
A gastronomic exploration of terroir
An evening of local food and wine, featuring a comparison of Naramata-grown Cab Franc wines. This dinner is the first of an on-going series of dinners inspired by the Cittaslow designation, to celebrate and learn more about what defines a NaramataSlow life.
The exploration of the evening’s feature varietal, Cabernet Franc, will be led by local winemakers Del Halladay (Elephant Island), Ross Hackworth (Nichol Vineyard) and Rob Van Westen (Van Westen Vineyard). Learn from each winemaker about what variables contribute to achieving their particular expression of the Cab Franc grape and explore what commonalities exist that define Naramata terroir.
Chef Mike of Knotweed Restaurant will be preparing a 4 course paired menu showcasing his commitment to local and sustainable ingredients. The main course will feature the flight of three Cab Francs, tasted side-by-side. A select offering from the wineries will be matched with each of the other three courses.
Enjoy a signature cocktail to start the evening off, featuring one of Legend Distilling’s locally produced spirits.
Cost per person: $95 (plus tax and gratuity). A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the NaramataSlow Society to aid in ongoing efforts to creating dialogue and awareness between local producers and consumers. A very limited seating of only 24 tickets are available for this event.
